Backyard Baseball Inc. is a small baseball and softball instructional company located in Orange County, NY. Backyard Baseball Inc. focuses on individual and group instruction for both baseball and softball. Specifically, we will focus on hitting, throwing, fielding, and eye hand coordination. We have also teamed up with Granite Barbell LLC, to provide top of the line strength and balance training. Our focused system allows us to assess each player, develop an age appropriate plan of action, and instruct the player based on our findings. Our instruction is offered at both our facility as well as on a mobile basis during the spring, summer and early fall months. Outside of instruction, Backyard Baseball also offers party services and home based instruction.

Backyard Baseball Inc. was created by myself, my wife, and our great friend Eric Boyajian. Together we strive to provide amazing instruction for kids and teens of all ages and abilities. Our goal is to show all players they are unique and to push them to be confident in themselves.

Hello Everyone!
My name is Dave Babcock, co-founder of Backyard Baseball Inc. I wanted to share a quick story with you about my life long baseball journey. In seventh and eighth grade I tried out for modified baseball but was unsuccessful both years. I was absolutely devastated. At that point my goal in life became to make the Junior Varsity team in ninth grade. Ninth grade came and after I worked so hard on strength training and skills, I was unsuccessful again. That made three years in a row that I didn't make the baseball team. Rather than become discouraged and quit I tried even harder that next year. When tenth grade came around I knew I would make the team. It was that year that my life changed forever. I finally made the Junior Varsity baseball team. Finally!! My dream was to make that team and go on to play college baseball. Persistance and hard work gave me both of those opportunities as I did go on to play four years at Mount Saint Mary College. Above everything else I had fun every single day during my baseball journey. Which brings me to today, where I can only hope to give back to this wonderful game by passing along some of my passion, knowledge, and lessons learned.

Hi!
Welcome to our page and thanks for stopping by! I have a long history with the game of softball. I love the team aspect of the sport, the competitive nature, and the challenges that it affords the mental and physical self. I started playing when I was five years old and have not taken a season off since. As the years progressed I became more skilled at the sport and throughout my four years on varsity with a competitive high school coach I learned much about the game. Although I have learned so much there are always areas for improvement. My career continued after high school in a more relaxed setting as I continued to play in summer softball leagues. I am so excited to offer the opportunity for young children and adults to find the same love of the game and skill development that I found over the past 25 years. Whether you are starting out at five years old or fifty, we will be there to assist in shaping your journey.

Hello Everyone,
One of my true passions in life is Baseball. Playing little league really sparked my love for the game. Although I enjoyed moving up the ranks in little league It was Junior Varsity in 10th grade when I really developed my skills. That same year I met Dave Babcock. We were throwing partners and remained brothers ever since. We played in various leagues together and even traveled to Florida for tournaments. Without a doubt we taught each other a lot about this game during our years in high school together. I went on to play at Farmingdale State University where I pitched. One of the greatest games was when Dave and I pitched against each other at Delano Hitch Stadium in Newburg, NY. After college I had the privilege of playing in a summer wood bat league in Arizona as well as another wood bat league in Poughkeepsie, NY. It is an amazing opportunity to be able to transfer my love for this game and knowledge I've acquired into the younger generations. I'm truly looking forward to being apart of this new team and developing young players Thank you so much for stopping in!
